opening more room. {rumi}.

"be with those who help your being. . ." - rumi

You wake up in the morn, walk down the steps in a haze, turn on the coffee pot and begin to open the windows. Each window opens, a deep breathe is taken, allowing the fresh, crisp air to filter through your body and slowly the morning joe awakens you to the day.

Yes! This is what Rumi's words do for me.

This quote has become somewhat of a mantra for me, over the past few years.  It is truly one of those things that you know deep down is so important for your health, your path, your life. But because we can sometimes get stuck in relationships, friendships or work environments, it can seem a bit impossible.

For me, it isn't a matter of not loving others, but more of a matter of loving myself. Not in an egostical, me, me, me way. More in the sense of "today I will do what is healthy, better for me." It can be so hard too. Life takes over, bills take over, relationships take over, and then before we know it, we can't find ourselves as we look in the morning mirror!

Since I began using this as a mantra, life has truly opened up. It is one of the reasons I am so excited about the Chickadee Road::Studio Sessions. It is so important to bring kindreds into our day. With each retreat I attend, I open that circle up to more beings who nuture, push and inspire me daily.

Opening. Circling. Nurturing.

Peace,
Kelly

This quote came just after I read a note from a friend who was telling me to take time for me and for what I love. I then passed that encouragement over to someone else and as quickly as I did... It returned to me as a blessing to my heart. <3 Thank you for the beautiful quote, which I will print and hang as a reminder... of my gratitude for my friends! <3 Selah

Wowee! Thanks Kelly.
With tomorrow being the anniversary of 9/11 this quote holds meaning for me as I think about all the various caretakers and caregivers in his world.

That quote couldn't be more true! (especially for me!) this is becoming my way of life too, not just some random quote. This quote is powerful- it signifies for me that I have a choice, that I am gaining clarity, I can aspire to be who I am.
Thank you so much! xo alane
